Our restaurant’s name refers to owner Bill Henry, a retired CPA who worked as a senior partner and practice leader at two global accounting firms. Some 30 years ago, Bill was blessed to marry Susan, a native of Montgomery, Alabama. Bill and Susan have visited Gulf Shores nearly every year over the past 30 years. Bill and Susan watched the Gulf Shores community and economy suffer body blows from Hurricane Ivan in 2004, the global financial crisis in 2008 and the BP Oil spill in 2010. Believing in the “Small Town, Big Beach”® family oriented community they came to cherish, Bill and Susan made the decision to move to Gulf Shores to invest in and operate Bill’s By The Beach.

Our vision is to create a high quality, beach causal atmosphere where locals and visitors alike may enjoy great culinary experiences in keeping with the best Gulf Shores has to offer. Our restaurant occupies a unique space full of regional character with beautiful unobstructed views of the white sands beach of Gulf Shores and the Gulf of Mexico.
