Coastal Restaurant Bill’s By The Beach Welcomes
New Executive Chef Jon Gibson

Chef Jon brings “coastal comfort cuisine” to West Beach

Gulf Shores restaurant Bill’s By The Beach (BBTB) today formally welcomes Alabama native Executive Chef Jon Gibson to the BBTB team. The addition of Chef Jon also marks a new menu for the local eatery, in a style Chef Jon describes as “coastal comfort cuisine.”

“This is when I take comfort food that you or I grew up with and put a different spin on them but staying true to the ingredients inside the dish itself,” he explains.

The new menu features subtle touches of Southern, Pacific Rim, Southwest, and European cuisines, updated every six months to emphasize the fresh, seasonal ingredients Chef Jon incorporates into his distinctive dishes.

Chef Jon possesses an extensive background in the culinary arts, most recently as the “King of Coastal Cuisine” for Orange County, California’s Beachcomber Café at Crystal Cove. During his time at the Beachcomber Café, Chef Jon made numerous appearances performing cooking demonstrations at the 2009/2010/2011 Taste of Newport, on KTLA morning news, in the Orange County Register and Coast Magazine, and on KABC 790AM Chef Irby’s “Bikini Lifestyles” radio show. His recipes were also published in Chef Irby’s “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Cooking Quinoa” cookbook.

Chef Jon received his culinary education at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, California. During his time as a student, he was fortunate to work alongside famed chefs Cat Cora and Guy Fieri at the 2006 L.A. Food and Wine Festival, and later with two-star Michelin Chef Édouard Loubet.

Baldwin County residents and visitors alike are invited to visit Bill’s By the Beach to welcome Chef Jon back to his home state and to taste the exciting, innovative menu he brings with him.
